OAKLAND TWP — Oakland Township will hold its annual community cleanup day from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the township maintenance shed, 165 Shearer Road. Hazardous materials, batteries and tires will not be accepted. Paint cans will be accepted without lids if the contents are dry.

Rummage sale set at synagogue

The Congregation B'nai Abraham will hold a rummage sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday and Monday at the synagogue, 519 N. Main St.

CRANBERRY TWP — The Cranberry Rotary and the Gardens Veterinary Hospital will co-sponsor their annual rabies clinic from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Rowan Elementary School, 8051 Rowan Road. Proceeds benefit the Cranberry Dog Park.

The Bach Society will present strings and woodwinds concerts at 8 p.m. Friday at Center Presbyterian Church on Franklin Street in Slippery Rock, and at 8 p.m. Saturday at Tower Presbyterian Church on South Broad Street in Grove City. Admission is free, and an offering will be taken.

KARNS CITY — The state Attorney General's office, along with Karns City Student Assistance Program and local agencies, will hold a program to educate parents about substance abuse in the community. The program will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Karns City High School auditorium on Kittanning Pike.

PENN TWP — The Penn Township Woman's Club will celebrate its 50th anniversary at 11 a.m. May 17 at the Butler Country Club on Country Club Road. All current and former members are invited to attend. Deadline for reservations is Tuesday.For more information, call 724-285-1200.

CABOT — Concordia Lutheran Ministries will hold two programs that are open to the public.A wellness program will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Haven III dining room. Refreshments will be served.Concordia will host a genealogy program at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Haven II dining room.
