Pa. student helped design pope's chair
READING — When Pope Benedict XVI took his seat for an address at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., a Pennsylvania student paid close attention.
Christopher Fullam of Wernersville, Berks County, is one of a four-member team that designed the graceful maple chair the pope used for the occasion.
As the pope spoke Thursday to about 600 Roman Catholic education leaders, the 20-year-old Fullam had a close view from his seat stage right, just five rows back. Fullam says, "It was pretty surreal."
