The Butler Area Public Library will host Paws to Read a Tail at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

The library invites the public to join friends from the Butler Dog Training Association who will bring Certified Registered Therapy Dogs to the library for story time.

Participants may bring their own book or borrow one from the library to read to the dogs. All ages and reading levels are welcome. Children also can make a "doggy" craft while they wait to read.

The Butler Area Public Library will celebrate National Library Week Tuesday through Saturday, along with Week of the Young Child.The library will celebrate all week with refreshments, games, prizes and more.Special events scheduled for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday will include door prizes, crafts, activities and celebrity story readers including Judge Marilyn Horan, local author; Dr. Anne Slanina; the guys from Pro Wrestling Newz & Viewz; and Froggy 104.3 DJ K-Frog. Plus, the Froggy mascot will be at the library at 11 a.m. Magician, Steve Haberman, will also be on hand to perform a family magic show at 7 p.m.
