CHERRY TWP — The Moniteau Junior/Senior High School will add 17 books to its shelves.

The school is a recipient of the We the People Bookshelf Program award. The library will get books based on the idea that people are created equal, such as "The Ugly Duckling" for younger students and "Flowers for Algernon" for high school students.

Nationally, thousands of libraries will receive the books through the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Library Association.
