EVANS CITY — The Christian Education Committee of St. John's United Church of Christ will present a murder mystery dinner theater at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the church at 501 E. Main St.

The production, "Clues Encounters of the Third Kind," will benefit the Lexi's First Sight fund and St. John's Let it Shine from the Inside to the Outside campaign.

The Butler County Family YMCA will host the 17th annual Healthy Kids Day at 3 p.m. April 11 at the Butler YMCA on Washington Street and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 12 at the Rose E. Schneider Family YMCA on Ehrman Road in Cranberry Township.The Butler event will feature magician Steve Haberman. The Cranberry YMCAevent will feature Buffo, the World's Strongest Clown.Both events are designed to help children learn to embrace healthy habits at home.

The Lifesteps' Child Check team will conduct free child developmental screenings from 9 a.m. until noon Thursday at the Lifesteps' Early Education Center on the Butler Veterans AffairsMedical Center campus; and from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. April 17 at Haine Elementary School, 1516 Haine School Road, Cranberry Township.Lifesteps' Child Check is a free screening service for all children from birth to 5 years of age.The 30-minute screenings look at the child's development in playing, talking, seeing, hearing, moving and thinking.Appointments are recommended, but are not required.
