'Beauty and the Beast'

Appearing in the Slippery Rock High School production of "Beauty and the Beast" are, from left, Nick Benninger as Lumiere, Neil Smith as Cogsworth, Alyssa Bartlett as Chip and Michelle Clay as Mrs. Potts. The production runs April 10 to 12 in the high school auditorium. Shows begin at 7:30 p.m.

Slippery Rock High School will present the musical "Beauty and the Beast" at 7:30 p.m. April 10 through 12 in the high school auditorium, 201 Kiester Road, Slippery Rock.

Tickets are available for $7 at Slippery Rock Parks and Recreation or by calling 724-794-8180.

The musical is based on the book by Linda Woolverton with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice. It originally was produced by Disney Theatrical Productions.

The show is being directed by Marietta Carney, with Ralph Christy Jr. as artistic and staging director. Mary Messer is executive producer, with Laura Benninger and Linda Dudek as producers.

Nick McIntire will act as production assistant. Janine Berner and Lori Giesler will be director assistants.

Vocal director will be Brittany Baker, with Les Fine as orchestra director and conductor. Ralph Christy Jr. choreographed the show.
