PITTSBURGH — A Penn State starting linebacker cleared of charges in a brawl at a State College apartment last April was arrested by Pittsburgh police for disorderly conduct outside a bar.
Online court records show Butler graduate Tyrell Sales, 22, was arrested for disorderly conduct and defiant trespass Saturday, then released on his own recognizance. He faces a preliminary hearing Thursday.
Police told a Pittsburgh newspaper, which first reported the incident, that the incident occurred about 8:15 p.m. outside Margarita Mama's in Station Square.
The Associated Press could not find a phone number for Sales, who did not immediately respond to an e-mail request for comment. Penn State spokesman Jeff Nelson told the newspaper Tuesday that he was not aware of the incident.

BETHEL PARK — Bob Purkey, a major league pitcher who played in three All Star games and one World Series with the Cincinnati Reds, has died. He was 78.Purkey, of Bethel Park, died Sunday, according to the Paul L. Henney Funeral Home in Bethel Park.Purkey pitched for 13 seasons, from 1954-1966, for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Cincinnati Reds, and St. Louis Cardinals. He compiled a 129-115 career record with a 3.79 ERA.
