WOOSTER— Butler graduate Molly Evans, a freshman on the Carnegie Mellon University women's swim team, placed in two events at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships over the weekend.

Evans placed second in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of two minutes, 3.49 seconds. She was fourth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 57.53 seconds.

Evans was also ninth in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:57.59.

LEWISBURG— Freeport's Andrea McQueen placed fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke and eighth in the 100-yard freestyle Saturday at the PIAA Class AA Swimming Championships held at Bucknell University.McQueen swam the breaststroke in 1:07.53 and the freestyle in 53.39 seconds.Knoch's Rachel Tano placed eighth in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:09.53.Butler resident Anne Marie Bilott, swimming for Shady Side Academy, was seventh in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:08.23 and swam a leg of Shady Side's 400 free relay, which placed sixth.

ATLANTA — The Atlanta Falcons are negotiating a trade that would send outspoken cornerback DeAngelo Hall to the Oakland Raiders for a second-round pick in the NFL draft.A source familiar with the talks, speaking on condition of anonymity because the deal had not been finalized, confirmed the Falcons were discussing a trade for the 36th overall selection. The Falcons have the No. 3 pick in the opening round.Hall is a two-time Pro Bowl selection, but he is nearly as well known for his outspoken demeanor.

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Penguins reassigned forward Ryan Stone to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL.Stone has played six games with the Penguins in three NHL stints this season. He had his first NHL goal in a March 12 game against Buffalo.Stone played five games over two prior recalls with the Penguins.
