Poster contest winner
Mark Malecky, an eighth grade student at Butler Junior High School, won an anti-bullying poster design contest at www.kdka.com. James Allen, school principal, said representatives from Highmark, KDKA, and the district on Tuesday awarded Malecky with an iPod. The district receives $2,500 for anti-bullying education programs. Of 10,000 votes cast on the Web site for the 10 finalists, Malecky received 6,000, Allen said. Malecky's poster featured dozens of "Do Not Enter" signs marked "No Bullying."
