Dead man's brother killed at funeral home
MOUNT PLEASANT — A Pennsylvania man heading to his brother's funeral was killed after a funeral home employee accidentally put the man's Jeep in reverse and hit him.
Authorities say 59-year-old Leslie Mathews died Wednesday morning. He was hit in the parking lot of the Galone Caruso Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant.
A Westmoreland County deputy coroner says 73-year-old Edward Frederick had been moving Mathews' Jeep into the funeral procession. He inadvertently put the vehicle in reverse.
Mathews was pinned between his Jeep and an SUV his grandson drove.
No charges have been filed. The coroner and police are investigating and an autopsy is pending.
