NORTH WASHINGTON — Applications are now being accepted for the 2008 North Washington Rodeo Queen Contest.

Applicants must be ages 16 to 20, own a horse and live within a 40-mile radius of North Washington.

The contest will be held at 10 a.m. April 26. Applications are due April 12. For information or to apply, contact Jen Morrow at 724-894-2766.

WINFIELD TWP — Animal Partners of Butler County will host a rabies clinic from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Winfield Fire Hall, Brose Road.Dogs should be on a leash and cats in a carrier. All pets must be at least 13 weeks old.

Central Electric Cooperative is accepting applications for its Good Neighbor Scholarship until Saturday.To apply, students must complete an application, supply a letter of acceptance to a post-secondary school, and a copy of his or her parents' 2007 federal income tax form.Students also must complete an essay on how they have contributed to their community.Scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded to 18 applicants. Applications are available in guidance offices at area high schools.Notices, in writing, of festivals, fundraising events, newly elected officers and other news from clubs and nonprofit groups should be sent to the Focus department one week in advance of the event.
