Pastor suspended over 'Net charges

CONNEAUTVILLE — A United Methodist bishop has suspended a Crawford County pastor who was jailed on charges of trying to contact a minor girl over the Internet.

The Rev. Steven McGuigan has been jailed on two counts each of unlawful contact with a minor and criminal used of a communications facility.

Authorities say McGuigan was involved in explicit sex chatting with an undercover agent posing as a 13-year-old girl.

Bishop Thomas Bickerton says McGuigan pastored to Conneautville area churches. The bishop says he will lead services at both churches on Sunday.
