INDIANA, Pa. — The Butler County Family YMCABarracudas' 8-under swim team won the 27-team district title over the weekend at Indiana (Pa.)University.

Butler's girls tallied 123.5 points, beating out runner-up Greensburg YMCA(119 points). The boys tallied 136 points to runner-up McKeesport YMCA's 113.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Seneca Valley graduate and Cranberry Township resident Kylie Gamelier, a junior on the University of Toledo women's swim team, earned first-team All-MAChonors at the Mid-American Conference Championships in Buffalo, N.Y., last weekend.Gamelier earned two gold medals and two silver medals in the meet. She won the 200-meter breaststroke with a Toledo and pool record time of 2 minutes, 15.98 seconds. She broke her own school record in the 100 breaststroke with a 1:03.56, good enough for second.Gamelier competed on the 200 medley relay team that swam a MAC-record time of 1:41.32. She swam on the MAC runner-up 400 medley relay team with a school-record time of 3:45.Toledo scored a school-record 605.5 points while finishing second in the team standings.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Butler graduate Molly Evans, a freshman on the Carnegie Mellon University women's swim team, won the 200-yard backstroke and set a conference record time of 2:04.67 at the University Athletic Association Championships last weekend.Evans also finished second in the 100 backstroke (58.48) and third in the 500 freestyle (5:04.64). She swam on CMU's 400-yard and 800-yard freestyle relays, which both finished third.

SHALER TWP — The Butler freshman basketball team (23-1, 12-0) won the Shaler Area Lou Martig Memorial Tournament last weekend.The Golden Tornado defeated Neshannock and Central Catholic to reach the finals, where they defeated Bishop Canevin 57-38. There were 10 teams in the tourney.Rob Niederbergeris is the coach.
