The Butler County Parent Transition Group will host a workshop from noon to 2 p.m. Feb. 20 in the conference room at the Butler County CareerLink building, 112 Hollywood Drive.

The workshop is open to parents of students with disabilities and provides information about the transition from high school to post-secondary education, employment and community living.

The speakers for the workshop will be Kathy Moyer and Chris Nagowski of the Intermediate Unit IV, and Adina Luppe and Troy Rhodabergr of Career Opportunities for the Disabled.

CLEARFIELD TWP — The Transitional Care Unit of Butler Memorial Hospital will host a benefit spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Happy Hunter's Sportsmen's Club, Chicora-Fenelton Road.Proceeds will benefit Rhoda Vogel and Karen Woyton, who suffer from illnesses related to cancer, and Amy Shay and her family, who lost a daughter and home in a fire.Takeouts will be available. The event will include a bake sale and Chinese auction.

Applicants are now being sought for the Cameo Model Pageant to be held March 16 at the Kean Theatre in Gibsonia.Divisions are open to contestants ages 2 to 5, 6 to 8, 9 to 12, 13 to 16, 17 to 25 and 26 and older. BUTLER TWP — Basket raffles will be held Fridays during lent at the South Butler Fire Hall to benefit Cody Fend.Fend is awaiting a umbilical cord stem cell treatment in China to correct optic nerve hypoplasia, a condition causing blindness.The raffles will be held in conjunction with the Lenten fish dinners at the hall.For information, visit www.webstarts.com/codyfend.

CHERRY TWP — The bands of Moniteau Junior-Senior High School will host a midwinter band concert at 7 p.m. Feb. 27 in the high school auditorium, 1810 W. Sunbury Road.The jazz band, junior high band and senior high band will perform.Admission is free.Notices, in writing, of festivals, fundraising events, newly elected officers and other news from clubs and nonprofit groups should be sent to the Focus department one week in advance of the event.
