Five District 9 basketball teams will kick off postseason action next week.

• In Class AA boys, No. 1 seed Karns City received a first-round bye and will face the winner of the Cranberry-Brookville game next Friday or Saturday at a site and time to be determined.

• No. 7 seed Moniteau will travel to Kane for a 7 p.m. tipoff Tuesday.

• In Class AA girls, No. 3 seed Karns City will play No. 2 Kane next Friday or Saturday at a site and time to be determined.

• In Class A girls, No. 5 seed Union will host No. 12 East Forest at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

• In Class A boys, Union, the No. 8 seed, will host No. 9 seed Johnsonburg at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. The winner will travel to top-seeded Coudersport on Friday.
