Carnegie Museum receives $3M gift
PITTSBURGH — A foundation has given $3 million to Pittsburgh's Carnegie Museum of Art to establish a curatorial position in decorative arts and help the museum buy paintings, sculptures and decorative works.
The gift from the Alan G. and Jane A. Lehman Foundation will create two endowments of $1.5 million.
One will create a position for a decorative arts curator. It is the first endowed position for a curator at the museum.
The second endowment will help the museum pay for paintings and sculptures made before 1970 and decorative works.
