Distinguished Diners

Attorney F. Lee Bailey congratulates Mitchell Uram, left, trust officer of Pittsburgh National Bank's Butler branch, and Larry Berg, second from left, manager and co-owner of WBUT, on their selection as Distinguished Service Award winners on Feb. 4, 1967. Bailey, a defense attorney who sprang to national prominence through his successful defense of Dr. Sam Sheppard in 1966, was the featured speaker at the annual awards banquet of the Jaycees at the Holiday Inn. Uram was honored as senior man of the year by the Jaycees and the Butler Area Junior Chamber of Commerce, while Berg was named junior man of the year. At right is David Parker, president of the Jaycees. Today the Butler Rotary Clubs team up with the Butler County Chamber of Commerce to present the Distinguished Service Awards.
