KARNS CITY — The Karns City School District has announced the dates for kindergarten registration.Sign-ups will be accepted Feb. 20 at Chicora Elementary School, Feb. 21 at Sugarcreek Elementary School and Feb. 22 at Bruin Elementary School. Each registration day will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.The full-day program is open to children who will be 5 years old by Sept. 1.Parents should pick up a registration packet prior to the registration dates. A birth certificate and immunization records are required for registration.

The Butler County Parks and Recreation Department is accepting entries for its Snow Creations contest, with a chance for participants to receive a pass to Alameda Pool for this summer.Contestants should create a snow sculpture or creation and send a photograph of it, along with the creator's name, address, phone number and date to: Butler County Parks and Recreation Department, Snow Sculpture Creation, 184 Alameda Park Road, Butler, PA 16001.Entries must be received by March 31.
