Christine B. Morabit, 97, of Sunnyview Home, formerly of Roosevelt Boulevard, died Monday at Sunnyview.

Born in Girard, Ohio, Feb. 25, 1910, she was the daughter of Pasquale and Filomena DeRuba Cervone.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, where she was one of the founding members of the 55 & Alive group. She also belonged to the Ladies Guild of the church; the Aurora D'Italia, where she was treasurer for more than 20 years; and T.O.P.S. She was involved in fundraising for the building of the St. Michael Church, convent and school. She also volunteered in the school cafeteria for more than 30 years.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Mary Patricia (Tish) Crouch, Mrs. William (Philomenia) Heaton and Mrs. Gerald (Margaret) Yon, all of Butler; a sister, Mrs. Rose Griffiths of McDonald, Ohio; five grandchildren, Brian Crouch of Butler, Joy Crouch of Pittsburgh, Sheri Henderson of Butler, and Jason Yon and Barbara Sypolt, both of Columbia, S.C.; and four great-grandchildren, Sarah Yon and Jaylin Sypolt, both of Columbia, and Zachary Henderson, and Grace Crouch, both of Butler. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Her husband, Dominick Morabit, whom she married July 14, 1941, died Nov. 12, 1980. She also was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

<B>MORABIT </B>— Family visitation for Christine B. Morabit, who died Monday, Dec. 17, 2007, will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the <B>Martin Funeral Home</B>, 429 Center Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Center Avenue, with the Rev. James Dolan officiating. Burial will be at the St. Michael Cemetery.Information also is available at www.martinfh.net.
