Charles Dolan Sr.
Charles E. Dolan Sr., 90, of Irene Drive died Sunday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born March 28, 1917, in Pittsburgh, he was a son of George H. and Margaret Hagan Dolan.
Mr. Dolan was a 1936 graduate of St. Justin's High School in the Mount Washington section of Pittsburgh.
He was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps.
Mr. Dolan retired as a supervisor at Airco Welding Products. He had worked in the rare gas division in Butler and the North Side, Pittsburgh, and retired in 1982 after 43 years.
He and his wife moved to Butler in 1963 and became members of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian. He was a former member of the Resurrection Roman Catholic Church in Brookline.
Surviving are two sons, Charles E. "Bud" Dolan Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Butler and the Rev. James W. Dolan, pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Butler; and several nieces and nephews.
His wife, Jane M. MacPherson Dolan, whom he married Sept. 16, 1942, died Jan. 13, 2005. A brother and three sisters preceded him in death.

Dolan Sr., who died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, Meridian. His son, the Rev. James Dolan, will officiate. Burial will follow at the Butler County Memorial Park.The bereavement committee of St. Fidelis Parish will hold a parish prayer service at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
