D. Allan Rape

D. Allan Rape, 76, of Zelienople died Thursday morning at Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Jackson Township on Nov. 4, 1931, the son of Daniel and Mildred Klein Rape.

Mr. Rape was a Baptist.

He had worked for Halstead Inc. in Zelienople for 35 years before it closed.

He served in the Navy on the USS Glacier during the Korean War.

Mr. Rape enjoyed restoring Cub Cadet and Farmall tractors. He also enjoyed gardening, mowing his lawn and bailing hay on his son's farm, but most of all, reading his Bible.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy J. Nye Rape, whom he married on June 12, 1965; two sons, D. Allen Jr. and Roger Rape, both of Zelienople; a daughter, Mrs. Mark (Marcy) Girdwood of Portersville; three brothers, Cyril "Art" Rape of Mesa, Ariz., David Rape of Cranberry Township and Duane "Jim" Rape of Rochester, and a sister, Mrs. Walter (Doris) McConaughy of New Brighton.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

<B>RAPE</B> — Friends of D. Allan Rape, who died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home,</B> Evans City. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. John Park of the Westminster United Presbyterian Church officiating.
