Carl W. Grabigel
Carl W. Grabigel, 78, of Grove City died at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday at the Grove City Medical Center after a long illness.
Born in Etna, Allegheny County, Dec. 31, 1928, he was the son of Charles H. Grabigel and Marie Pletcher.
He attended the Grove City schools. He retired in 1992 from the General Electric Corp., Grove City, where he was a welder for 21 years. He formerly worked at Five Filer Brothers, Grove City.
Mr. Grabigel was a Protestant.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and received the Purple Heart in 1951.
He was an avid golfer and bowler and belonged to several golf leagues in the Grove City, Harrisville and Slippery Rock areas. He was a former member of the Grove City Jaycees.
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn M. Oakes Grabigel, whom he married June 25, 1955; two children, Gerald W. Grabigel of Mercer and Erin K. Oakes of Greenville; two grandchildren; a sister, Rose Marie Gordon of Grove City; and two brothers, Howard H. Grabigel of Grove City and Charles H. Grabigel Jr. of West Palm Beach, Fla.
<B>GRABIGEL</B> — Friends of Carl W. Grabigel, who died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME</B>, 306 Bessemer Ave, Grove City. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Kent Bell, pastor of Bethel Life Worship Center of Greenville, officiating. Burial will follow at the North Liberty Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
