PENN TWP — An adult vocal ensemble, for vocalists age 14 and older, has begun rehearsals for "The Resurrection and the Life,"a spring musical production by Sing Hosanna!

The adult group will rehearse from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays at 310 W. Airport Road.

An ensemble for youth ages 6 to 13 will rehearse from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sundays beginning Jan. 20.

The production will be presented March 14, 15 and 16.

In addition to ensemble members, actors, set builders, scenery painters and backstage personnel are needed. For details, contact the Sing Hosanna! office at 724-586-0042.

JEFFERSON TWP — Concordia Lutheran Ministries' Adult Day Services, in conjunction with the Alzheimer's Association, will host two sessions of An Evening for Caregivers at the Lund Care Center, Marwood Road.The one-hour sessions will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday and Jan. 17 in the ground floor activity room. The sessions feature speaker Leigh Dillaman of the Alzheimer's Association, who will speak on the topic "Changing Roles of the Caregiver" on Thursday and "Caregiver Stress Management" on Jan. 17.Following the presentation, there will be a time for questions, support and refreshments.Free adult care will be available. The Mechanical Contractors Association of Northwest Pennsylvania has announced its fifth annual Foster McCarl Jr. Scholarship Program for students entering plumbing, HVAC, engineering or construction related fields of study during the 2008-09 academic year.The association will present two $500 scholarships to students attending accredited colleges, universities and technical schools in Western Pennsylvania.Applications are available from high school guidance counselors, online at www.mcanwpa.com or by calling the association office at 814-456-3977. Completed applications must be postmarked by May 1.
