Youngstown State University broke a halftime tie by outscoring Slippery Rock University 39-25 in the second half to post a 77-63 men's basketball triumph at the Beeghly Center in Youngstown (Oh.) Saturday.

Ken Ottrix had a game-high 18 points and nine rebounds for The Rock (2-9).

Matt Schaefer added 16 points, Cory Summerville 12 points and three blocks and Joseph Vines chipped in with 10 points.

Byron Davis led the way for the Penguins (4-7) with 15 points.

Butler High graduate Jade Burka had two assists, one steal and three fouls in 12 minutes of play.

Kellyann Staudinger had 20 points and nine rebounds, but the SRU women's team dropped a 65-56 decision to Assumption in San Diego on Saturday.
