Mary L. Mershimer, 87, of New Middletown, Ohio, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, in the Greenbriar Nursing Home.

Mrs. Mershimer was born Nov. 21, 1920, in Slippery Rock, a daughter of George and Mabel McConnell Hall.

A graduate of West Sunbury School, Mrs. Mershimer worked in the office of Electrolux for more than 20 years.

She was a member of the Poland United Methodist Church for more than 50 years, where she served on many committees and was a Sunday school teacher for 45 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Valerie (John) Mohr of Tipp City, Ohio; a sister, Dorothy Thorpe of Dayton, Ohio; a brother, Jesse Hall of Charleston, W.Va.; three grandsons; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Mershimer, who she married on Dec. 11, 1948, and who died March 20, 1966; four brothers, and a sister.
