Birckbichler

Ralph J. Birckbichler, 74, of Butler died at 7:36 p.m. Sunday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Feb. 8, 1933, in Butler, he was the son of Fred and Dorothy (Blume) Birckbichler.

He was a member of the St. Peter Roman Catholic Church.

During the Korean War, he served in the Army and received a Purple Heart.

He retired from the strip shears department at Armco-Butler Works after 39 years.

He was a member of the Butler Moose and the Armco Bowling League and was a former member of the VFW and Armco Country Club. He enjoyed golfing and bowling.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Alicia) Dinger Jr. of Butler, Mrs. James (Brenda) Turner Jr. of Evans City and Mrs. John (Lori McCormick) Badura of Butler; a son and daughter-in-law, Ralph J. and Sharyn Birckbichler Jr. of Frisco, Texas; six grandchildren, Michael and Jennifer Dinger, Matt McCormick, Marisa Badura and Jimmy and Danica Turner; five step-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Paul (Carolyn) Benninger of Butler, and three brothers and their spouses, Harold and Faye Birckbichler, Cletus and Mary Ann Birckbichler and Dale and Flo Birckbichler, all of Butler.

His wife, Donna Marie Birckbichler, who he married Jan. 7, 1956, died Dec. 2, 2004. A sister and a brother also preceded him in death.

<B>BIRCKBICHLER</B> — Friends of Ralph J. Birckbichler, who died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St., with the Rev. Pierre Falkenhan officiating.
