Wayne Wilbert Ohl, 87, of Jefferson Township died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday while in the company of family members in the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia, Jefferson Township. He formerly lived in Slate Lick, South Buffalo Township, Armstrong County.

Born in Brackenridge, July 3, 1920, he was the son of William W. and Luella Hemphill Ohl.

He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Kittanning.

Mr. Ohl was a sales agent for the Prudential Insurance Co. for more than 30 years and retired in 1982.

He served his country during World War II as a Navy Seabee.

He was member of the F&AM, the Pittsburgh Consistory and the Syria Shrine. He also belonged to the Tarentum VFW and was a past member of the South Buffalo Township Water Authority. He was an avid member of the Freeport Boosters and the Freeport Area Pool Association, a former field and grounds superintendent for the Butler County Soccer Association and a volunteer at the Lund Center at Concordia.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, playing cards and traveling. He was an avid Freeport football and basketball and Butler soccer fan.He was the widower of Mary Catherine (Shrum) Ohl, who died in 2003.Surviving are two sons, retired Maj. Ronn G. (Julie) Ohl of Sanford, N.C., and W. Brent (Sally) Ohl of Butler; four grandchildren, Gregory Ohl of Mount Washington, Ryan Ohl of Butler, Jane Ohl of Cameron, N.C., and Rolie Ohl of Sanford; and two great-grandchildren, Ja-Len and Alanis Ohl. He also is survived by a sister, Val Jean Callihan of Buffalo Township; and the family caregiver, Mary Fichthorn of West Kittanning.

<B>OHL</B> — Friends of Wayne Wilbert Ohl, who died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>REDMOND FUNERAL HOME</B>, 524 High St., Freeport. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Kittanning, with the Rev. David Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Mt.
