Rose Ella Mausteller
Rose Ella Mausteller, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went home to be with the Lord last Saturday. She was 85 years old.
Born in Milton, Pa., on June 4, 1922, she was the daughter of Frank C. and Merle Lupfer Strickland.
After graduating from Milton High School, she worked as a telephone operator in Milton and with DuPont in Penns Grove, N.J.
In 1944, she married J. Wilson Mausteller. They lived in New Jersey and Pennsylvania with the majority of their married life spent in Evans City.
Throughout her life she served in the Lutheran Church in a variety of positions including choir member, junior choir director, Sunday school teacher, superintendent and church committee member. She was also an active participant in the Via de Cristo (Cursillo) movement. Rose Ella was an active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church at the time of her death. She also volunteered in the community in numerous ways: collecting for the American Cancer Society, leading Girl Scout troops and serving on the district council, literacy volunteer and delivering food for Meals on Wheels.
Her hobbies included bowling, painting, collecting animal creamers and coal range samples, traveling and music.
She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Pyle of Wilmington, Del., Lisa Thong of Beijing, China, and Linda Edenfield of Earlysville, Va.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson, and her son, Jeff, within the past year. Her younger siblings, Bertram Strickland and Alice Scheihing Conrad, also preceded her in death.
She has 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
<B>MAUSTELLER</B> — Friends of Rose Ella Mausteller, who died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 116 E. Main Street, Evans City. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Evans City, with the Rev. David Saylor officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall.
