Cookie sale planned at Reformed Church

A cookie sale will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Reformed Church, Route 68 and Benbrook Road, Butler Township. Cookies will be sold in three or five dozen quantities.

Registration is now being accepted for the Butler YWCA Preschool Montessori Program.The program is open to children ages 3 to 5. Sessions are held from 9 a.m. to noon or 12:45 to 3:45 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.Classes are held in the rear of the Maridon Museum, 322 N. The Butler Lions Club is now hosting its annual Christmas tree sale at the Butler High School stadium. The sale is held from 5 to 8 p.m. weekdays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays until all trees are sold.

The Rotary Clubs of Northwestern Pennsylvania are seeking four professionals to visit Scotland in September, as part of a group study exchange program of the Rotary Foundation.Applicants must be between age 25 and 40 at the time of the trip, which will be about a month. They will be accompanied by a Rotarian team leader.The group will be hosted by a Rotary District in the northeastern part of Scotland. They will tour Scottish business and industry, governmental offices, schools and recreational areas. Each team member is expected to spend five days in activities relative to their profession.The foundation will provide air fare and Rotarian hosts in Scotland provide meals, lodging and group travel. Team members pay for personal and incidental expenses.Applicants must be U.S. citizens and must live or be employed within the Rotary District, which is from Cranberry Township to Erie and from the Ohio line east to Dubois or Leechburg. They must be employed in a business or profession full-time.
