Clara A. 'Caddie' Logan
Clara A. "Caddie" Logan, 98, of Laurel Manor, Emlenton, formerly of Petrolia, died on Friday at 11:20 a.m. following a period of failing health.
She was born in Fairview Township on Aug. 25, 1909, and was a daughter of John P. and Allie Jane Given Berry.
She was a lifelong member of the Petrolia Presbyterian Church and had attended the Petrolia School and then graduated from Aspinwall High School.
While living in Aspinwall, she was employed at Frank and Cedars Store and at Keystone Grocery Store, both in Aspinwall.
She enjoyed her family, cooking and needlepoint.
Following her husband's retirement, they wintered at Hobe Sound near Stuart, Fla.
She married Clarence W. Logan on Sept. 1, 1930, in Petrolia and he preceded her in death on July 10, 1996.
Mrs. Logan is survived by two grandsons, Ross L. Jack and his wife, Laurie, of Grove City and Vincent R. Vogel and his wife, Rhonda, of Butler; four great-grandchildren, Michael and Chelsea Harrison of Grove City and Cory and Kristi Vogel of Butler; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a daughter, Alta Lou Jack, on Jan. 3, 2005; her son-in-law, Harold A. Jack, on Oct. 8, 2007; her twin brother, John Berry, on Jan. 1, 1975; Louis Berry, Thomas Chester Berry and sisters Mary Margaret "Peg" Hindman and Iva Lewis.
<B>LOGAN</B> — Friends of Clara A. "Caddie" Logan, who died Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. on Sunday at the <B>Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home</B>, Petrolia. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday from the funeral home with the Rev. Richard F. Rowe, retired Presbyterian pastor, officiating.
