Robert L. Taylor
Robert Lawrence Taylor, 67, of Butler died early Sunday morning at his home after a long illness.
He was born Sept. 2, 1940, in Prospect. He was the son of Russell Lawrence and Lena Stephenson Taylor.
Mr. Taylor was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Prospect. He was a lifetime member of the Prospect Boys and Girls Club where he was a past president.
He was an avid fan of NASCAR and avid outdoorsman, but his family was always his first love.
Mr. Taylor was a Slippery Rock High School graduate.
He had worked for 23 years at Smardt Equipment in Prospect and prior to that he worked for 19 years at Pullman Standard in Butler.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor M.Miller Taylor of Butler, whom he married on March, 24, 1962; a son, Robert Taylor of Prospect; two daughters, Tammy McElroy of Prospect and Cindy Conner of Butler; seven grandchildren; and three brothers, Richard Taylor of Meridian, Donald Taylor of Prospect and Tom Taylor of Butler.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
<B>Taylor</B> — Friends of Robert Lawrence Taylor, who died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Jay Bryan Funeral Home</B>, 443 Main St. in Prospect. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday from the Presbyterian Church in Prospect with the Rev. Robert Allison officiating. Burial will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Prospect.In lieu of flower donations, memorial donations can be made to The Prospect Boys and Girls Club.
