Sarver

Ray W. Sarver, 88, of Zelienople, formerly of New Castle, died Friday morning at the Passavant Health Center in Zelienople.

Born in Butler, June 23, 1919, he was the son of William E. and Margaret E. Stroup Sarver.

He retired as a machinist at Mesta Machine in New Castle and had served in the Navy during World War II.

Mr. Sarver attended the Chapel at New Haven Court at Passavant Health Center, and he had been a member of the Second United Presbyterian and the Harbor Presbyterian churches in New Castle.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth J. Weissert Sarver, who he married June 23, 1939; three daughters, Shirley Mitolo and her husband, Pat, and Christine Scungio, all of Chesapeake, Va., and Deborah Cotnoir and her husband, Robert, of New Hampshire; two sons, Larry W. Sarver and his wife, Helen, of Hilliard, Ohio, and Douglas Sarver and his wife, Tina, of Kansas City; a son-in-law, Dominic Tomeo of Tionesta; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Betsy Tomeo; an infant son; two sisters, and a brother.

<B>SARVER </B>— Friends of Ray W. Sarver, who died Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. today and from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home</B>, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. Service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. John Hoogerbrugge, chaplain for the LAS/St. John Specialty Care Center, officiating.
