M. Joan Snyder, 78, of Butler died at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Vincentian Home in Pittsburgh, following a short illness.

She was born Oct. 6, 1929 in Butler. She was the daughter of Clarence and Clara Marie Reinhold Culbertson.

She was a member of Muddy Creek Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Snyder is survived by a daughter, Linda Snyder Brown and her husband, Dennis, of Pittsburgh; two sons, Gary Snyder and his wife, Vera, of Slippery Rock, and James Snyder and his wife, Jodi, of California; six grandchildren, Matthew and Stephen Brown, and Melanie, Chrissy, Russell and Brayden Snyder, and a great-granddaughter, Mia Brown.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Russell E. "Gene" Snyder, who died Oct. 24, 2000.

<B>Snyder</B> — Friends of M. Joan Snyder, who died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the<B> William F. Young Funeral Home</B>, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Matt Kail of her church officiating.
