AMY ACHESINSKI(Butler), a freshman women's basketball player at Mercyhurst College, was named Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference South Player of the Week. She scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in a loss to No. 18 Northern Kentucky, then scored 24 points and had six boards in a loss to Tiffin (Ohio).•

PAT REAGAN (Slippery Rock University) was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Year. He finished 12th in the Division IInational championship race, earning all-America honors, and was runner-up in the East regional to teammate Jeff Weiss.•

RACHEL BARRY(Butler), a freshman on the Geneva College women's basketball team, scored 10 points and sank all six of her free throws in a 77-24 victory over Franciscan. Geneva is 5-0.
