Hampton authorizes strike
GIBSONIA — Teachers in the Hampton School District in Allegheny County have authorized a strike vote, but haven't set a date.
Chief teacher negotiator Arleen Starr says the motion was overwhelmingly approved Tuesday.
She says the main issues relate to teaching and learning conditions.
State law requires teachers to give the district 48 hours notice before striking.
The teachers have been without a contract since June 30. No new bargaining dates have been set.
