Walter E. "Jake" Lunn, 83, of Prospect died Friday evening at the Sunnyview Home in Butler following a short illness.

He was born May 3, 1924, in Springdale, the son of Clarence and Wilma Hughs Lunn.

He was a graduate of Muddy Creek High School in Portersville. He was a member of The Presbyterian Church of Prospect.

He was a sergeant in Okinawa in World War II

He was retired from Armco Steel Mill, now AK Steel, after 40 years.

He was well known for his gardening, and he loved hunting season and his family.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary McClymonds Lunn; two daughters, Landis Brain and Mrs. Duane "Mike" (Donna) Campbell, both of Butler; two sisters, Grace Porter of Portersville, and Wilma Duncan of Volant, and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
