Henry 'Hank' Vasbinder
Henry "Hank" Vasbinder, 74, of Sugarcreek Township, Armstrong County, died accidentally Wednesday at his home.
Born on May 14, 1933, in Phillipston, he was the son of Charles A. and Mildred A. Butler Vasbinder.
He was a graduate of East Brady High School in East Brady.
Mr. Vasbinder was an accomplished baseball player and had tryouts with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Cincinnati Reds.
He enjoyed watching baseball, football and hockey.
He worked for 30 years as a welder for Pullman Standard in Butler and 17 years for Trinity Industries in Butler. He also was a bartender for the Moose Lodge 962 in Chicora.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 488, Bradys Bend; the VFW Post 7131 of Rimersburg, the Sons of Italy Lodge 1484 of Bradys Bend and the Moose Lodge 962 inChicora.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy M. Crawford Vasbinder, whom he married June 21, 1986; five sons, Barry C. Vasbinder of Rimersburg, Michael H. Vasbinder of Indiana, Matthew Vasbinder of Virginia Beach, Va., Larry Hicks, of Cowansville and Raymond Troy of Sugarcreek Township; four daughters, Sue Ann Kriebel of Rimersburg, Rebecca Sullivan of Virginia Beach, Va., Sandra Hicks of Sugarcreek Township and Linda Hicks of Kittanning; a brother, Jesse Vasbinder of Sandy Hollow, Clarion County; a sister, Betty Watson of Kentucky; 23 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
<B>Vasbinder</B> — Friends of Henry "Hank" Vasbinder, who died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Charles B. Buchele Funeral Home,</B> 105 Fourth St., East Brady. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Church of God of Prophecy, New Athens, Pa., with the Rev. Leonard J. Goughler officiating.
