Dorothy J. Bonyak
Dorothy J. Bonyak, 88, of Butler died Thursday at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.
Born Sept. 11, 1919, in Butler, she was a daughter of John C. and Estella Fair Albert.
She was a 1937 graduate of Butler High School. She was a homemaker and mother and also had volunteered as a "Grey Lady" for the American Red Cross at Butler Memorial Hospital. She greatly enjoyed reading, crocheting and sewing.
Mrs. Bonyak was a member of Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are a son, John A. Bonyak of Butler; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Cress and Mrs. Michelle Barr, both of Butler; three sisters, Mrs. Rudy (Ruth) Shuler of Tarentum and Mrs. Paul (Grace) Simitoski and Doris Ashbaugh, both of Butler; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband, John R. Bonyak, whom she married Oct. 4, 1939, died June 12, 1994. Six brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death.
<B>BONYAK</B> — Friends of Dorothy J. Bonyak, who died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Merry Meloy, her church pastor, officiating.
