Arthur McMarr, 83, of Cabot died at 1:47 p.m. Monday at the Houtz Personal Care Home.

Born Feb. 20, 1924, in Pitcairn, he was the son of Arthur Herbert and Mary Catherine O'Connor McMarr.

He was a Navy veteran and a member of the Butler VFW and the American Legion posts.

Mr. McMarr had been a postal worker for the U.S. government.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. George (Sharon) Schroeder of Tustin, Calif., and Mrs. Michael (Maureen) Hohman of Pittsburgh; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Patrick and Diane McMarr of Springfield, Va., Gary McMarr of Pittsburgh, Dennis and Sobra McMarr of Peach Tree, Ga., and Thomas and Susan McMarr of Pittsburgh; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Alice Blahnick, and a brother, Harry McMarr.
