Rose Marie Minteer, 79, of 2813 Lawyers Road, Chambersburg, died Friday in the Chambersburg Hospital emergency room.

Born Sept. 22, 1928, in Butler, she was the daughter of John and Ethel Vargo Yuhas.

A graduate of Butler High School, she had worked in the jewelry department of the Chambersburg J.C. Penney store in the early 1980s.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Chambersburg. She was a life member of the Landis-McCleaf Detachment Marine Corps League Ladies Auxiliary.

Mrs. Minteer was an avid bingo player and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband of more than 41 years, Jay D. Minteer; three sons, John L. Rodgers of Zelienople, Terry Rodgers of St. Thomas, Pa., and Jeffrey Rodgers of Carlisle; 11 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her only brother, William Yuhas, and by an infant daughter.

<B>MINTEER</B> — Friends of Rose Marie Minteer, who died Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home</B>, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. Visitation also will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, and services will follow at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Tara Magoon officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Franklin-Fulton Unit, 384 Floral Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201 or to Trinity Lutheran Church, 26 W.
