Nona M. Bixler, 85, of the Sunnyview Home died Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Oct. 14, 1921, in Madisonville, Ky., she was the daughter of Wesley and Mildred Evitts Higdon.

Mrs. Bixler was a homemaker and had worked at the International Staple Co., East Butler.

She was a Protestant.

She is survived by a son, Richard Higdon and his wife, Joanne, of California; a stepson, Jeffrey Bixler of Butler; two stepdaughters, Mrs. James (Sharyn) Dittmer and Mrs. William (Betsy) Gray, both of Butler; a granddaughter; five step-grandchildren, and six step-great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Ralph Bixler, whom she married Aug. 15, 1971, died Sept. 6, 2004.
