Stella Mae Knauff Campbell, 89, formerly of Butler, died at 1:15 a.m. Saturday at the Passavant Retirement Community, Zelienople.

Born Oct. 3, 1918, in Butler, she was the daughter of John Henry and Chloe Elizabeth McCall Knauff.

She was a member of First English Lutheran Church.

She had been a cook at the Center Township School, PARC, the Clarence Brown School and Lutherlyn.

Mrs. Campbell also was a 4-H Club leader and volunteered for the Butler Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and helping others. At the Passavant Retirement Community, she was active in exercise classes, the Silver Sneakers, dominos and woodworking. In recent years, she participated in a walk-a-thon, where she completed one mile with her walker.

Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Norman (Stella) Graham of Evans City, Mrs. Steve (Carol Jean) Passon of Colorado Springs, Colo., Elizabeth Ace of Smithton, Mrs. Darrell (Cynthia) Nebel of Cabot, Mrs. Donald (Janet) Voll of Mars and Mrs. Henry (Caroline) Campbell-Twentier of Leesburg, Va.; two sons, Raymond A. Campbell of Butler and Clyde Campbell and his wife, Patty, of Valencia; 21 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are three brothers, Kenneth Knauff of Fredonia, Frances Knauff and his wife, Emma, and George Knauff and his wife, Sandy, all of Zelienople.

Her husband, Frank E. Campbell, whom she married Aug. 8, 1941, died Dec. 27, 2002. She also was preceded in death by two infant grandchildren and a brother.

<B>CAMPBELL</B> — Friends of Stella Mae Knauff Campbell, who died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St. Visitation also will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Seaman Church, Passavant Retirement Community, 401 S. Main St., Zelienople, where services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Wilfred Goetze and the Rev. John Hoogerbrugge, both of Seaman Church, and the Rev. James Dollhopf of First English Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be at the Butler County Memorial Park, Butler Township.In lieu of flowers, due to a family illness, the family would like contributions made to the Seaman Church at Passavant Retirement Community, 401 S.
