James H. Lowry
James H. Lowry, 87, of New Castle died Saturday morning at Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born Sept. 23, 1920, in Mount Pleasant, he was the son of William G. Lowry and Elizabeth Miller.
He was a 1938 graduate of New Castle High School and had been a foreman for 44 years in the line shop and print shop at Shenango China, New Castle.
Mr. Lowry was a 32-degree Mason with the Westminster Lodge and a member of the Eintract Club, the Casimir Pulaski Club in New Castle and the Croation Club of Bessemer. He was a member of the former Madonna Church in New Castle.
He enjoyed traveling and watching old movies and football on TV.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy (James) Orloff Lowry of New Castle and Barbara (Ronald) Uram of Butler; a son, James W. (Roberta) Lowry of Stow, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
He married Helen C. Domin on Oct. 11, 1947. She died July 3, 1994. He also was preceded in death by seven siblings, Jay, William, Charles and Howard Lowry, Mable Zimpfer, Maude Aller and Vera Glasser.
<B>LOWRY</B> — Friends of James H. Lowry, who died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the <B>Noga Funeral Home</B>, 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle. A blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Very Rev. Marcel Pytlarz, pastor of Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be at the Madonna Cemetery,New Castle.
