COLLEGE NOTES

MATT BLUMAN (Slippery Rock University) became the third SRUrunner to win a PSACcross country individual championship last weekend at Kutztown University. He ran the race in 26 minutes, 18 seconds.Bob Petrini (1982) and Jeff Weiss (2005) are other Rock runners who have won PSACcross country titles.•

DAN ANDREASSI (Butler), a senior linebacker at Waynesburg University, was named Presidents' Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week. He had 18 total stops — 12 solo — and forced a fumble at his team's 1-yard line in a 22-21 loss to Washington &Jefferson.•

BETH REEFER (Slippery Rock), a junior midfielder for the Washington &Jefferson College women's soccer team, scored the only goal for the Presidents in a 1-0 upset of Thomas More in the PACsemifinals. W&Jfaces Westminster Saturday for the conference title.•

JAKE KERN (Grove City College), a freshman, was named PACand ECACDivision IIIMen's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. He recorded three goals and an assist in a 4-2 win at Thiel and scored once in a 2-0 win at Geneva.•

BEN GUTMANN (Seneca Valley), a sophomore on the Westminster College men's swimming team, was named PACMen's Swimmer of the Week. He swam on two first-place relay teams at the six-team Titan Relay Carnival, helping the 300-meter breaststroke relay set a meet record time of 3:04.98.•

JESSICA VERNON (Butler), a freshman on the Grove City College women's cross country team, earned All-PAChonors this year as the Wolverines won the conference title.•

ERIN CRANMER-HART (Slippery Rock), a senior on the Bucknell University women's cross country team, made the all-league team by finishing sixth in the Patriot League Championships with a time of 21:42.
