Stella Metcalfe, 81, formerly of Evans City, died Wednesday at UPMC Passavant Hospital.

Born Aug. 26, 1926, in Thompsonville, she was the daughter of John and Anna Hester Kost.

She was a devoted and loving wife to her late husband, Harry I. Metcalfe, to whom she was married for 61 years. He preceded her in death on Aug. 21, 2007.

She also was an avid cook and baker.

She is survived by a son, Harry T. Metcalfe and his wife, Jean, of North Wales, Pa.; and a daughter, Christine A. Maihle and her husband, Dave, of Bangor, Pa.
