Guy P. Lanterman
Guy Preston Lanterman, 83, of Butternut Road, Karns City, died at 3:15 a.m. Friday at Sunnyview Home after a period of failing health.
He was born in Kaylor, Bradys Bend Township, on April 29, 1924, and he was a son of Frederick William and Laura A Miller Lanterman.
He attended Kaylor School and was a Protestant. He was a 50-year member of Argyle Lodge Post 540 F&AM of Chicora, the New Castle Consistory and the DAV.
Mr.Lanterman served with the Army Air Force 462nd Army Air Force Base unit from June 1943 until February 1946.
He was a member of union Local 18, Cleveland, Ohio, employed as a heavy equipment operator in the construction of atomic power plants from 1955 until retiring in 1986.
After retiring he enjoyed repairing mechanical items.
He is survived by a sister, Norma L. McDevitt and her husband, Paul, of Karns City; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Anna Lanterman of Chicora; and nine nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were two brothers, William and Charles Lanterman.
<B>Lanterman</B> — Friends of Guy Preston Lanterman, who died Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday at <B>Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home</B>, Petrolia. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dave Schaffner and the Rev. Connie Dunn, both VNA hospice chaplains, Butler, officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Chicora.Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by members of the American Legion, Kaylor Post 488, Bradys Bend.Memorial donations may be made to VNA Hospice, 154 Hindman Rd., Butler, PA 16003.
