PITTSBURGH — The citizens crime watch group Guardian Angels plans to organize in southwestern Pennsylvania.

Founder Curtis Sliwa and four members of the Guardian Angels' Cincinnati chapter plan to make visits in October to New Kensington, Charleroi, McKees Rocks, as well as the Pittsburgh neighborhoods of Oakland and the Hill District.

They also plan to set up a training center in Pittsburgh's Brookline neighborhood.

Sliwa says Charleroi Mayor Frank Paterra invited the group.

Volunteers will get three months' training before forming a chapter of the Guardian Angels.

The organization is in eight countries and 86 cities.
