Blystone

Christine Stevenson Blystone, 96, of Buffalo Township died Saturday morning at Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia Lut-heran Ministries in Jefferson Township.

Born Feb. 24, 1911, in Motherwell, Scotland, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth J. Round Stevenson.

Mrs. Blystone was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tarentum and the Freeport Senior Citizens.

She was a foster mother for 30 years for Family and Children's Service of Pittsburgh.

Mrs. Blystone is survived by her grandchildren, Linda Waddell and her husband, Don, of Painesville, Ohio, and Michael McGuire and his wife, Gina, of Buffalo Township; six great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, and a great-great-great-grandchild.

Also surviving are two brothers, William Stevenson and his wife, Dorothy, of Gualal, Calif., and Hughie Stevenson of Leechburg; a sister, Matilda Ferguson of Dunedin, Fla.; and a daughter-in-law, Alverda "Berdie" McGuire.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Arthur McGuire, Henry O. Plouchard, and Armor Blystone; a son, William McGuire I; a grandson, William McGuire II; and a great-grandson, William McGuire III. Four brothers, Edward, Robert, John and Thomas Stevenson, also preceded her in death.

<B>Blystone</B> — Friends of Christine Stevenson Blystone, who died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at <B>REDMOND FUNERAL HOME</B>, 524 High St., Freeport. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, officiated by Mrs. Blystone's pastor, the Rev. Robert B. Walker.
