Margaret J. 'Peggy' Whitehair
Margaret J. "Peggy" Smithtro Whitehair, 74, of Leechburg died at 5:45 p.m. Thursday at Allegheny General Hospital.
Born Dec. 29, 1932, in Zelienople, she was the daughter of Stanley J. and Gladys I. Welsh Smithtro.
She married Raymond A. Whitehair, who died Sept. 15, 1994.
She was a cook with the former Travera's Restaurant in Vandergrift for 30 years, retiring in 2003. She and her husband owned and operated Ray's Bakery on Freeport Road in Natrona Heights from 1954 until 1959.
She was a member of the Cross Roads Community Presbyterian Church in Leechburg and the Leechburg Mothers Club. She enjoyed her family, flowers, house plants, cooking and baking.
She is survived by a son, Michael D. (Gloria) Whitehair of Arvada, Colo.; six daughters, Cindy (Bruce) Sardon of Pittsburgh, Deborah (Leonard) Arb of Leechburg; Barbara Banner of Merritt Island, Fla., Pamela (Larry) Washburn of Lost Creek, W.Va., Jamie (John) Rimmel of Leechburg and Shelia (Michael) Costanza of Washington Township; a brother, Stanley J. (Shirley) Smithtro of Camarillo, Calif.; and a sister, Gerry (Robert) Harvey of Fort Myers, Fla. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three step grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

"Peggy" Smithtro Whitehair, who died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at <B>Clawsons Funeral Home</B>, Second at Main, Leechburg.Additional visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until the 12:30 p.m. services at Cross Roads Community Presbyterian Church.
