SAN DIEGO — Keaton Hall of San Diego, Calif., son of Butler native Scott Hall, recently competed in the Friendship Games soccer program in the Netherlands and won a gold medal.
Hall, 11, played for Chaos S.A. in the 11-to-13 age group and his team won gold in a 60-team division that included 36 teams.
Chaos S.A. defeated a Dutch team 2-1 in the finals.
The Friendship Games have a 22-year tradition of international youth competition. Nearly 300 teams and 6,000 players from 25 countries competed.
Hall is the grandson of Joyce Hall and nephew of Stacey Noah, both Butler residents.
PARIS — Floyd Landis lost his expensive and explosive case when two of three arbitrators upheld the results of a test that showed the 2006 Tour de France champion used synthetic testosterone to fuel his spectacular comeback victory.The decision means Landis, who repeatedly has denied using performance-enhancing drugs, must forfeit his Tour title and is subject to a two-year ban, retroactive to Jan. 30, 2007.
